In November 1918, the First World War ended. American soldiers were loading on steamships and went home to America. They brought a "Spanish" with them. The epidemic did mostly hit young. Immunity battling the disease caused a powerful and potentially dangerous reaction of the organism that kills the infection, simultaneously destroying the entire body.
